The Canton Fair, also known as the China Import and Export Fair, is one of the oldest and largest trade fairs in China. Canton Fair was inaugurated in the spring of 1957 in the city of Guangzhou, which is located in the Guangdong province of southern China. Its primary purpose was to promote Chinese foreign trade and strengthen economic ties with other countries. Initially, the fair was held once a year. However, in 1957, it was changed to a biannual event, with one session taking place in the spring and the other in the Autumn. In recent years, the fair has undergone a digital transformation, allowing for online participation and trade due to factors like the COVID-19 pandemic.
