Pulished on Jun. 30, 2020

Ceramic cups make up a large part of the appliances we use. Why do people choose ceramic? The reason is that ceramics has many advantages relative to other materials: very strong plasticity, unique shape, smooth porcelain surface, simple cleaning, high temperature resistant material baking, non-toxic and harmless, and even some materials are beneficial to health, these advantages make ceramic cups loved by many people.

Now the process is divided into four kinds of customization: screen printing, baking, thermal sublimation, engraving.

Do you know how many kinds of processing are there for ceramic

1.Screen printing

At present, there are fewer ceramic cups with silk screen printing process on the market.  The effect of silk screen printing is very similar to that of baking flowers, but there is one disadvantage. It is easy to fall off during printing for a period of time, resulting in the loss of patterns.  If the schedule is not tight or the budget is limited, we recommend baking or sublimation printing.

2.Baking

Baked flowers, commonly known as decals.  In layman’s terms, colored paper is a thin film on which designs are printed.  Paste the finished paper onto the cup.  It is required that the flower paper should be smoothly attached to the cup, without bubbles in the middle and without wrinkles in the printed part, otherwise the cup will be prone to pop when it is baked at high temperature.  Some decals want manual stick, this kind can cause product decals to have the artificial error on the position commonly.

Put the cup pasted with flower paper into the kiln and bake it at high temperature.  The baking temperature is controlled by the color of the paper and the material of the ceramic cup.  This means that different colors need to be cooked at different temperatures to make better products.  If the temperature is lower than the temperature required by the color, the printed pattern is not shiny and the color is not bright. If the temperature is higher than the temperature required by the color, the color of the printed pattern will become pale and white, or even the same as no printing.  But the material that pledges pottery and porcelain cup also can affect the temperature that bake a flower, because bake a flower temperature should just make the glaze on pottery and porcelain cup melt, at this moment the color agent on flower paper just can infiltrate go in glaze, after waiting until the product drops in temperature, color and pottery and porcelain cup become an organic whole, achieved pottery and porcelain cup won’t drop color purpose so.  If the baking temperature is too low, the glaze of the ceramic cup has been finished before it starts to change, then the printing color is only attached to the surface of the ceramic cup, and the pattern will fall off if you wipe it hard with a wet towel.

3.Thermal sublimation

Thermal sublimation transfer printing is the portrait, landscape, text and other pictures, with thermal sublimation transfer ink inkjet printer equipped with thermal sublimation transfer ink, in the way of mirror image printed on the thermal sublimation transfer ink paper, and then heated to about 200℃ through the thermal transfer equipment, so that the sublimation of the thermal transfer ink on the paper into the substrate.  It is a new technology to transfer the color image on paper to textile, porcelain cup, porcelain plate, metal and other materials.

4.Engraving

Laser is the twenty-first century high-tech products, laser engraving can also be used in the ceramic engraving, and laser engraving technology is controlled by CNC, professional software with the method, as long as the good design pattern, all the rest to the laser machine to complete, compared with the traditional carving techniques, the laser engraving with speed, complex carving decorative pattern,  Features suitable for mass production.
