As the most influential home decor and gift event in Western Spain, Intergift Madrid International Interior Design and Gift Fair has always served as a key window for gauging trends in the Spanish market. This September, our team traveled to Madrid to attend the exhibition, conducting on-site market research to understand current trends in home and daily goods.
This year's exhibition opened Halls 3, 5, and 7, primarily showcasing home textiles, household goods, toys, stationery, and related products. Our tour revealed that glass and ceramic items at the Intergift Fair centered around four core themes, establishing themselves as the prevailing market trends.
1. Botanical Theme: A Natural Tribute to Mediterranean Style
Plant motifs are a common design element in ceramic homeware. This exhibition features products inspired by native Spanish plants such as olives, lavender, and lemons. These designs not only evoke the sunshine and natural landscapes of southern Andalusia but also seamlessly integrate local culture with underglaze decoration techniques, embodying the distinctive character of Mediterranean aesthetics.

2. Animal Theme: Where Childhood Whimsy Meets Artistic Expression
Designs featuring cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, pigs, cows, sheep, moose, and other animals showcase diverse styles—ranging from realistic, intricate forms to abstract, simplified artistic expressions. From charming animal figurines for children's rooms to everyday coffee mugs found in households, these products adapt to various spaces, fulfilling the dual demand for whimsy and artistic flair in home decor. They have garnered significant popularity among attending consumers.

3. Holiday Themes: The Core of Emotionally Resonant Gifts
Western mainstream holidays such as Christmas, Father's Day, and Mother's Day represent key consumption occasions for gifts. Festival-themed ceramic products showcased at the exhibition feature vibrant colors and warm designs, including hand-painted Christmas snowman tableware, Father's Day mugs engraved with well-wishing messages, and Mother's Day decorative plates adorned with floral patterns. These items cater to holiday decorating and gift-giving needs while balancing practicality with commemorative value.

4. Irregular Lines or Shapes: Modern Minimalist Design Expression
Most European consumer groups pursue minimalism and personalization, which is particularly evident in products like ceramic cups, vases, and candlesticks. These items feature vibrant and bold color combinations—yellow, orange, blue, pink, and green—exuding strong individuality and design appeal, drawing crowds of customers to stop and admire them.

As a supplier deeply rooted in the glass and ceramic homeware industry, GARBO International understands that international trade is not merely a simple buyer-seller relationship. It requires integrating consumer needs with local cultural characteristics to develop markets further and enhance competitive edge.
